Below you can find some details about the pricing and options that are available. Usually it's beneficial to discuss which approach is best suited for your project. For those who already know what they need, or simply want to get an idea on pricing, I created a pdf sheet with all the details. There is also a calculator, which automatically calculates all options and discounts for an easy overview.
All prices are NET without VAT/MwSt.
Modular Pricing
The advantage of my modular and flexible workflow is that you only pay for services that you really need. Thanks to the included RAW scans it's easy to refine and polish the scans at a later date when needed. I also offer volume discounts starting at 2 items or more.

Elephant scans
Elephant scans are specially tailored to get high-image quality and archival safety when scanning a large amount of film. Minimum order is 3 rolls of film.
What's included with each film
- All images in full resolution with color adjustment as 8bit TIF files
- All images in full resolution as uncorrected 16bit RAW files for archiving
- A copy of all corrected images as JPG files
- A contact-sheet of all images individually corrected
- A contact-sheet with the same adjustment for all images
A basic color adjustment is made for each image based on my proprietary color calibration. To keep costs low, no dust retouching is carried out unless you add this option to your order. Color fine tuning and dust removal can be done either initially or later on selected RAW scans as an extra option.
All films are handled with gloves and carefully cleaned with a dust blower and anti-static brush. But dirt stuck to the emulsion and fingerprints will not be rubbed off since this adds the risk of damaging the film.
Discounts are available for
- 6 films or more: -5%
- 10 films or more: -10%
- 20 films or more: -15%
- Slower delivery time: -10% (2-3 weeks)
- Students: -30% (delivery 2-3 weeks)
Extra charge for additional options
- 16 bit TIF files: +5%
- Slides or negatives cut to single images: +70%
- Retouching of dust and scratches: +80% (up to 30min per film)
- 48h express service: +50% (by prior arrangement)
- 24h express service: +100% (by prior arrangement)
Delivery Time
- The upload / dispatch usually takes 5 working days from the day I receive your originals. If I'm swamped, it can take up to 7 working days. For urgent projects, rush service is available upon request.
Mammoth scans
What's included with each scan
- Each image in full resolution with color adjustment as 16bit TIF file
- Each image in full resolution as original 16bit RAW file for archiving
- A copy of each corrected image as JPG file
- Retouching of dirt and scratches (up to 30min per image)

What's included with each scan

Leviathian scans are all individually fine tuned and color adjustments are made for each image according to your preferences. Preview images will be sent out so you get the exact colors you desire.

Digital retouching to remove dirt and film damage is included up to 30mins per GB.

Delivery Time
- The upload / dispatch usually takes 7 working days from the day I receive your originals. If I'm swamped or it is a huge scan, it can take up to 10 working days. For urgent projects, rush service is available upon prior arrangement.

Formatting, retouching, cropping, data conversion, etc

Data Transfer
Data transfer via cloud service is included, with the following options
- Dropbox Link (secure SSL link)
- Dropbox Link (secure SSL link, password protected)
- Google Drive Link (secure SSL link)
- Encrypted 128bit AES Apple Disk Image (for particularly sensitive data): +30 EUR
- USB flash drive: +20 EUR (drive included)
Archiving
The download links are active for 2 weeks and the data will be stored locally for at least two months.
Please make sure that you have downloaded, checked and archived all your data within 14 days, and reach out if you have any problems at all.
Film Return
In Germany, film originals can be returned using DHL, well packaged and with tracking.
Inside Berlin I'm also happy to order a courier for you.
Shipping abroad is possible via DHL, with tracking.
Any risk of loss or damage will pass to the customer when the films are delivered to the carrier.
